True
revival
The call
to revival each one of us has received is a call to the glory of the LORD
of Lords, a calling that
comes
from a changed spirit, from the confession of sins.
The
message of the ‘feel good’ Gospel often spoken today is a message of
exaggerated emotions and
manifestations,
thus placing ‘ME’ on the throne of our lives instead of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Today
revival is seen as a show with crowds of people, where a professional
worship team produces
beautiful
music, famous charismatic preachers are invited to speak, and people are
asked to make
decisions
for Jesus within two minutes.
Is this
the way we expect revivals to come?
We want
to fill our churches with people, but true revival is when people are
filled with God.
Dear
people, revival is not a religious show, but true revival is when God’s
Spirit fills a person’s life and
that
person begins to change and allow Holy Spirit to reign in their life.
When
people asked Peter how they could be saved, he didn’t tell them, ‘Give
your heart to Jesus.’
Do
we expect people to
understand that?
Peter
answered them: REPENT and BE BAPTISED in the name of Jesus,
CONFESS
your sins, so that times of refreshing may come from the Lord (Acts 3:19).
and you
shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38
Repent, and let everyone
of you be baptised in the Name of Jesus Christ,
for the
remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
If we
truly long for revival we would be willing to pay the price.
Can we
ever know how great the price of GOD’s GIFT was for us?
Every
great awakening has been preceded by the power of PRAYER.
When the
believers had prayed the days before Pentecost, the
place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were ALL filled
with the Holy Spirit, and
they spoke the Word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31)
Dear
Friends, the Holy Spirit is still with us, the Pentecost REVIVAL is also
still reachable within us.
If we
hold back or are against revival, are we serving other idols, or do we
trust more in the man-made doctrines
and
traditions
of our churches, that we fail to see the eternal truths?
That
it is about: “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit”…
