Search
for comfort......where you can find comfort.
Are
you sick, weak, unhappy or damaged? Have you been abused by people who
misuse their authority on you with words, or even with physical violence?
There are so many people broken because of a heave burden in their lives.
Result of this is stress and depressions, being exhausted or burned out.
There is more darkness and pain in the world that ever before in history
of mankind.
People
look for comfort and solutions in new-age therapy, fortune tellers and
mediums, drinking alcohol and using drugs, pornography and sexual abuse.
In that way they come into a spiral of greater darkness. Newspapers a
filled with suicide reports. It
talks about old and young people, poor and rich people. The power of abuse
can damage a human life for ever. Abusing everything and everyone seems to
be a new trend or hype in our days.
When
you are damaged or hurt, it’s easy to get a lifestyle of negative
thinking. You become a melancholic doomsday thinker and within a very
short time it will be a normal attitude. It will be a very bad part of
your character. Jesus said: “What you sow, you shall reap.” In that
way you end up in a negative spiral.
This
spiral looks like this: You get damaged because a negative situation, you
land into a depression, you choose a wrong reaction to the circumstances
and start to treat people the same way you have been treated.
Very
soon negative thoughts come up, followed by deadly words.
The
more negative our words are, the bigger our problems grow. That’s how we
open the door for Satan in our lives. But you know he is a liar, a thief
who wants to steal the peace you have with Jesus.
In
the bible book of Revelation 12:10-11 you can read following:
“For
the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night,
has been cast down. And they overcame him by he blood of the Lamb and by
the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the
death.”
Satan,
the devil is an accuser, the wants you to believe that you are good for
nothing, that nobody loves you because you are useless and bad. Or even
worse, that you are the ultimate looser, a looser that will never make it.
Once
you get these feelings, you need to know that this is not coming from God,
that Jesus doesn’t tell you these things. Sure, Jesus will point his
finger at the sins in your life, but He will never condemn you of what you
have done in your life. Jesus stretches out His hands to you. He offers
you a way to find comfort in Him.
YES,
YOU CAN CONQUER SATAN IN YOUR LIFE
Revelation
chapter 12 tells you the key for victory. Don’t let Satan tell you
anymore lies, dear people. He neither has nor power, nor authority, he can
only cheat on you. He can only tell you lies! Satan has been cast down,
although he tries to accuse and mislead you day after day and tries to get
you down.
Satan
already has been conquered by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, the
Comforter, and by the word of our testimony. When we give our old and
sinful life in Jesus’ hands, together with Him we conquer the enemy.
Many
times people remain emotional because of their past mistakes and the
situation they’re in now. The keep focussed on negative thinking, even
after they’ve been forgiven and healed by God.
Do
you have any idea why this happens?
Well,
many times forgiveness is not fully accepted. Someone prays and asks for
forgiveness, but after this person received it, he or she cannot fully
accept it. Does this have to do with the fear of failing again or maybe to
fail in the eyes of God?
People
think that forgiveness has a limit, or that God forgives only half.
Forgiveness you should not only ask, but also ACCEPT completely. You need
to have the will to believe that God forgives EVERYTHING COMPLETELY.
Accepting
forgiveness works in three steps:
-
Our will, put the
EGOCENTRIC thinking in God’s
hands and leave it there when forgiveness comes.
-
To
get renewed
in your thinking and acting.
-
To
change the poor self pity thinking
into grace.
We
need to realise more what kind of authority we have over our enemy. We
have victory by the sacrifice of Christ, by receiving God’s word we get
insight in discipline and truth, and we get renewed in our thinking by the
Holy Spirit of God. We can bring everything under the love of our Father,
so that the healing of our heart and soul will remain. Ask Him for healing,
pray and ask your Father, and He will give it because of His unconditional
love.
Matthew
7:7
Ask
and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be
opened to you..
Matthew
7:8
For
everyone who ask receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks
it will be opened.
Are
you really looking for comfort?
You
can only find it with your Father, the God of all comfort.
The
book of 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 says:
Blessed
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and
God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be
able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which
we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound
in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if we are
afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective
for enduring the same sufferings, which we also suffer. Or if we are
comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope for you
is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the suffering,
so also you will partake of the consolation.
Suffering,
oppression, getting hurt, yes, in all pain and tribulation God, the
everlasting Father, give you His comfort. He wants to hold you in His arms
and tell you:
COME
TO ME, MY CHILD, REST WITH ME. I LOVE YOU AND I WILL COMFORT YOU IN ALL
THINGS.
The
Father will take all the pain and damage on Him. He is the only One who
can make something good out of something bad. Come to ME, the Father says,
and I will make everything new. A bruised reed He will not break, when
it’s pulled down on the field because of the storms, then I, your God
will lift it up again.
I
am convinced that our Father doesn’t give suffering or tribulation to
His children. He always has been a loving Father, a Father who wants to
give His child the best of everything, in abundance. But although all the
love the child gets, many things it falls into the pit of destruction.
And
there you see the true love of God the Father. When we put 'me, myself and
I' in the first place, and want to go our own way, we fall into that pit
of self-righteousness. Or we can fall into the pit of abuse.
God
will always comfort this pain and oppression. Something that was damaged,
He will restore. The comfort He gives you can use to comfort others.
God
wants to comfort His children again and again. He is the Father of all
mercies.
His son Jesus Christ brings comfort in love (Philippians
2:1)
But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name... (John
14:26)
Our
Father, the Father of all mercies and the God of all comfort is full of
love and looking for people who He can comfort.
